Dear Elliott Graduate:

Congratulations! We want to ensure that you have tied up all loose ends so that you will have diploma in your hands after the ceremony.


Building A serves all students with the last name beginning with A-L. Terri Basey 209-574-1703 is your contact person.

Building B serves all students with the last name beginning with M-Z. Kelly Swindall. 209-574-1709 is your contact person.

Scholarships –Check out our website ( for scholarship information and links to the applications. Just click on the “student tab” and select “scholarship information” you will find the application links on the left.

The Graduation Ceremony Contract must be completed no later than Friday, May 13th. To get the contract legally signed, you must either be over 18, or bring a parent/guardian. You will need to go to your assigned building at Elliott, depending on your alpha.

Books and School Fines – In order to cross the stage for graduation and/or receive your diploma, ALL Modesto City Schools fines must be cleared and paid, and all books returned before graduation. If you owe a debt, there will be a paper included with this letter, stating what is owed. Payments for books can be given in cash or money order to Mrs. Mitchell, Elliott’s bookkeeper. She is in the Attendance office area. You may return items you owe to your respective building.

If you owe a technology fee and you need to pay fines, please go on your home school website and pay the fee there. It is in the Student Body Office tab.

Graduation will be at the Johansen High School football stadium at 5:30 PM on Monday, May 23rd, 2022. You need to be there by 4:30 p.m. for staging purposes.

Graduation Practice will be held the morning of graduation, Monday, May 23rd. If you plan to participate in the ceremony, you must attend the practice. Buses will leave Elliott at 8:30 A.M. and return about 11:45 A.M.  You may not come on school grounds.  Wait in your car or outside until you are allowed to board the bus.

Caps and Gowns will not be available to pick up until after graduation practice. It is best if you pay your fines and return tech (computers/chargers) ASAP if you haven’t done so already, as lines can be long.

Eight free tickets will be included with the cap and gown. Yard signs will also be available for you. Caps and Gowns are loaners, you return them when you pick up your diploma. The tassel is yours to keep. If you wish to purchase your own cap and gown to keep, you may contact Jostens at Rob DeGeorge 559-999-2702

Diplomas will NEVER be mailed to you. They are printed on the day of graduation and must be picked up from our Registrar Ms. Zaborsky, beginning the day after our graduation between 10 AM and 3 PM (her lunch break is 12-1:00.) This is when you will return your cap and gown as well.
