M. Edith Marinez, Clinician M-F

Edith is part of the Behavioral Consultation Model Program. Edith will be providing behavioral and clinical mental health services specific to the needs of Elliott. Services primarily include student de-escalation, and crisis intervention, parent trainings, staff collaboration, teacher consultation, student observations, needs assessments, and direct counseling services to students. There are no restrictions on which students can be seen by the BCM clinician, other than filling out a referral or sending students to room 28.

Jaclyn Hesling, Youth Opioid Response (YOR) Counselor - TH

Jaclyn is the Youth Opioid Response counselor. The YOR program offers SUD services to students on campus with Medi-Cal or those without insurance. Jaclyn provides assessments, one-on-one sessions and group counseling, referrals, outreach and engagement, and education. Additionally, Jaclyn facilitates low barrier SUD groups focusing on prevention to all students on campus at no cost. Referrals can be made through the administrator or school counselors.

Lorenza Figueroa, Student Assistance Specialist M - F

Lorenza is the Student Assistance Specialist and provides short term intervention and prevention services to students. There are no restrictions on which students can be seen by the Student Assistance Program, other than parent permission. Lorenza is also available to do groups, conflict mediations and classroom presentations on a variety of topics. Referrals can be made by teacher's counselors, parents, administrators, or student self-referrals.

Brianna Chacon, Student Assistance Specialist M, T & F

As a Student Assistance Specialist, I work with students either individually or in small groups to assist them in developing coping skills on any life issue they may be facing such as anger, bullying, grief or academic problems. These sessions are designed to be short-term (6-8 weeks) and are intended to promote emotional and social learning. I am also available to facilitate classroom presentations on a number of topics. In addition, I can assist students, parents and school faculty in locating various community resources. I am located in room 28.
